Declared by UNESCO as one of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and recognized by our constitution as the “Historical Capital City of Peru”. Cuzco is by far the most important touristic place in the country due to its countless historical attractions, archeological, folklore, art, natural attractions and the Great Machu Picchu. In addition, we can mention the Sacred Valley that retains wonderful archeological pieces in Pisaq and Ollantaitambo, the inca trails, as final destination the Incredible Machu Picchu, the QoyllurRiti, one of the biggest festivals in the world that takes place right before sacred Mount Ausangate and many other places that shows the remarkable beauty of its ancient culture.

January 1st: El Sinkuy, is a ceremonial ball game that is played in Ollantaytambo on the afternoon of this date.

January 1st - 6th: Typical Nativity Exhibition.

Last two weeks of March – first week of April: Activities related to holy week – Easter.

May 2nd: Traditional fest “Cruz Velacuy”, a religious celebration that Catholic Church takes part; especially, Andean ones.

1st half of June: OllantayRaymi Festival. Beautiful play that tells us the story of Ollantay, dance and typical dishes.

June 23: Relative Festivity in Cusco. It is a costume parade, dances, choreography from Cusco culture.

June 24th: IntiRaymi, dramatization of an ancient rite representing the peaceful relation between the man and the cosmic manifestations mainly with the Sun.

September 14th: The Festivity of the Lord of Huanca has a procession to the city of Cusco.

November 2nd: It is the day of All Saints. They have a religious festivity in all the region where they frequently celebrate baptisms and sell "wawas" (dolls). For this day they prepare the "suckling pig": food prepared with roasted pork , and the "tamales" which are a sort of buns based on corn.
